In 2008, the Village of Oswego celebrated its 175th anniversary. It began in 1833 and today it is the most populated town in Kendall County. As of the 2005 census, the village population was 23,089, almost doubled since 2000, as the Chicago suburbs expanded westward into the area.
Located 50 miles southwest of Chicago, along the Fox River, the historic downtown includes local shops, restaurants and a public library. Oswego is a town known for its unique community charm with historic buildings and homes. Striving to keep its small town character, Oswego boasts a strong retail and commercial base, yet is known for its quality District 308 schools. Oswego is a great place to raise a family.
